Sound System Installation
Sound Systems are the combination of microphones, signal processors, amplifiers, and loudspeakers that makes live or pre-recorded sounds louder and may also distribute those sounds to a larger or more distant audience.[1][2] A sound reinforcement system may be very complex, including hundreds of microphones, complex audio mixing and signal processing systems, tens of thousands of watts of amplification, and multiple loudspeaker arrays, all overseen by a team of audio engineers and technicians. On the other hand, a sound reinforcement system can be as simple as a small public address (PA) system in a coffeehouse, consisting of a single microphone connected to a loudspeaker. In both cases, these systems reinforce sound to make it louder or distribute it to a wider audience.[3]
Home theater systems generally consist of a home theater amplifier powering low impedance tower based or in-wall/in-ceiling speakers in a 5, 7 or 9 speaker configuration and a single or dual subwoofer.
Whole house audio systems utilize a separate amplifier used in conjunction with wall mounted volume controls to provide sound throughout the inside and outside of the house.
Commercial audio systems generally consist of installed 70V high impedance in-ceiling or bracket mount speakers powered from commercial amplifier/mixers. Paging over the system can be accomplished by use of a microphone or by local telephone by picking an extension on a system phone. Volume controls can be mounted inside of a room or area for individual level control. Commercial Audio System- Single Output Amplifier, System allows entire office/building to listen to the same source. Can have single or different sources. Commercial grade mixer/amp with separate bass/treble controls, output for “music on hold” & “telephone line paging” input.
Distributed audio systems are muti-zone systems that can be home or commercially used uses in-wall button style or high resolution style touch screen keypads in each room to select to control source, tone & volume level .
Sources- Digital Audio Tuner- FM, Internet Radio or own recorded media via SD card or USB drive. Free downloaded app gives any mobile device ability to control (via Wi-Fi) from anywhere inside the office.IPad/iPod/iPhone Charging Station- Stream audio from your personal device & charge up to 4 devices. Can be local iPod/CD/MP3 player or PC, from a media storage device such as USB/Flash/SD Card, from a music provider such as XM or Muzak, or streaming from the internet from an online music station.
Volume Controls- Wall Mounted (single gang) Volume Control allow individual volume levels at each room or area. Matches existing light switches, simple look.
Speakers- 70V or 8 Ohm style. In-Ceiling Speakers, In-Wall Speakers, Bracket Mount Speakers, Tower Speakers & Subwoofers. Ceiling & Wall speakers can be painted to match any existing color. Wired to wall mounted Volume Control or directly to amplifier. Wiring is 2 or 4 conductor 16/14/12 gauge depending on length & power.
